wellington 2016
Matthew and I have just spent a really fun couple of days at our Grandma’s place in Lower Hutt despite me being a bit sick. Monday morning at 7:00 we were down at the train station catching the train with all the commuters that were going into Wellington. Matthew went to sleep which was funny. Grandma picked us up and we headed to her place to drop off our stuff and plan the day. We then walked to the bus stop and got the bus out to the Days Bay wharf. It was a bit early for the ferry so we just sat in the sun and took pictures. Then the ferry turned up and we got on the top deck. It was an awesome day for sailing and we got some great views heading straight into Wellington harbour. Then we got the bus out to the airport and watched planes for a bit and looked in the shops. We found some subway for lunch and had that while watching more planes and this very funny guy who was dancing around down there!! Then we got the bus all the way back home and went to Grandma’s house for drinks and stuff and then walked down to the art gallery in town to have a look around. Then it was time for dinner and finally bed.
In the morning after breakfast and everything, we went to a trampoline place. Matthew and I had heaps of fun doings flips and jumping up onto stuff and racing around. I did some flips into the foam pit they had there as well which was fun. We were pretty exhausted after that so it was time for lunch. We went to a nice little place in Petone and it was delicious. After that we went go-karting for a bit. We both had heaps of fun doing slides around the corners and racing about. It feels really fast as you are so low to the ground. Then we headed home and Grandma decided to challenge us to making some pastry rose things with apple for the petals. It turned into quite a challenge indeed as the apple slices had to be thin enough to bend and then we had to roll the pastry up with them inside but they were popping out all over the place!! Matthew made a pretty funny one and we were all laughing so hard about it! Then we baked them and got to eat one each. They tasted pretty good actually. Then it was dinner time, which Matthew and I made, and bed time.
In the morning our Uncle Peter came round before lunch as we were going to be doing a high ropes course but it was canceled due to the weather. So we decided to go ten pin bowling before lunch instead and we had a fun time there. After lunch we went indoor rock climbing and it was so much fun. Some of the walls were quite a challenge but super awesome. We spent ages there and definitely want to do it again. When we got back, Mum had arrived so we all chatted before dinner. Then had dinner (obviously) and bed.
In the morning we said goodbye to Grandma who had to go to work, and then packed up our stuff and drove home. We basically got home with enough time to unload and head off again for my RDA volunteering in Masterton!! Anyway that’s us. We had such a great time and did so many cool things for which we are very grateful.
